See Europe Without Leaving Your Seat

Arounder has amazing 360 degree panorama shots from some major European monuments.  Some very well done (or IMHO at least very well situated) shots are the Trevi Fountain, a night shot of the Roman Colisseum, and a view from the Little Matterhorn.

Now if I could only land a job taking photos like that, instead of being a corporate drone …

The Happiness Thermostat

Science and Spirit magazine has an interesting article about how genes may contribute to a person’s natural state of happiness.

“…while feelings of happiness change from day to day, depending on the circumstances, people seem to have a stable midpoint to these variations, a general level of happiness to which they return after momentary irritation or elation fades. Scientists call this the ‘hedonic set point’ or happiness thermostat…”

By describing yourself from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of overlap and difference can be built up.
