Not much to say, other than Tuolumne Meadows is very pretty.

Half Dome Felt Like Deja Vu

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

Yosemite was frickin’ awesome!!! I’m slightly disappointed that we didn’t get to see Hetch-Hetchy or climb Lembert Dome, but thats just me being way too ambitious in planning things out. Still, Half Dome was great, though next time I think I’ll pass it up and just head over to Tuolumne Meadows directly — I’m getting just a little tired of stumbling around on a dark trail at night.

And now, a few photos:

… or, the perfect cap to a cruddy day.

As I was leaving Mojave airport earlier tonight, I felt a little shudder in the front-left part of my car. After a few more hundred feet of driving, the car was starting to veer towards the left on its own, and I pulled over. Now, Mojave definitely counts as the boonies, and it was pitch black, so I pulled out a flashlight for a bit of illumination. One quick shine, and there it was: the front left tire was completely flat. “$#@% !” I cursed and grumbled the entire 15 minutes it took to change the tire.

At least the jackrabbits got a good show.

Thanks to the Colbert Report, I just burned 15 minutes voting on all sorts of furry felines on kittenwar!

The first thought that came to my mind when I saw this 737 on the Mojave runway was “This looks like something the Mythbusters would blow up”. Considering all the cool stuff they do up there (like Spaceshipone), I wouldn’t be surprised if this one ended up in a ball of smoke.
