Jackrabbits breed so fast because they’re stupid

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006

So I almost squished a jackrabbit on the road today.  The little critter was waiting by the road, staring me down as I was leaving Mojave airport.  50, 40, 30 feet away, just sitting on its haunches looking straight at my car.  I get to about 20 feet away, and it starts hopping directly into my path.  Its almost like it timed it just right to commit suicide!  SCREEEEECH!  I hit the brakes, and narrowly miss its tail with my left wheel.

One of these days, they’re not going to be so lucky :\

If you’re having a bad day, reading about this guy should make you feel a teensy bit better.

Death by Caffeine

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

So according to the Death by Caffeine page, it’d take about 281 cans of Coke or 119 cans of Red Bull to do me in. I thought Jolt Cola would take the prize, since it beat out Red Bull (119 cans < 67 cans), but thats not even in the same league as a Starbucks Grande coffee. The dosage to kill lil 'ol me? Only a bit over 25 cups.

The Death by Penguin Mints page is equally amusing. I’d have to chug 9555 Hershey’s Kisses before the reaper comes to greet me.

Some useful freebies

For the Mac-head concert-goers out there, OnTour is a pretty neat dashboard widget.  It scans your iTunes library and displays when they are going to perform:

And the photo-geeks (like me) can have some fun with FxIF to view the EXIF info in JPEGs in Mozilla Firefox / Seamonkey.
