Life and stuff

I’ve been playing with the idea of a new car for over a year, watching and waiting, and every so often thinking “my current car refuses to die, maybe I’ll just wait for ‘08″. Well, I’ve finally pulled the trigger: I have a Camry Hybrid on order. Even though it is not supposed to show up for a few months yet, just the idea has me all bouncy and giddy inside. (Well, about as bouncy and giddy as I could get ….)

For ya’ll who are curious about what I chose, I went a “Blue Ribbon Metallic” color with no extra frills. The baseline is already pretty well decked out, with ABS, a smart key entry system, a 6-disc CD changer + 8 speaker stereo, and a few other things too. The hardest part was deciding whether or not I should splurge on the DVD navigation system. It was VERY tempting, but in the end, just couldn’t bring myself to spend money which could go to other toys.

Part of me is kinda sad that I didn’t decide on a Lexus IS 350. I liked the handling and the acceleration, but the price tag and (lack of) efficiency drove me away. Maybe for the next car …
